Howdunnit - Part 2

After Taco's great escape, the whole family searched in vain for a tunnel or gap in the fence. They filled in several holes but that didn’t stop him.
This is a case for Hercule Perro.

“You can’t outfox me”

Mum and I pretended to go out for a walk and left Taco behind…

We hid in our neighbour's garden. After a few minutes, Taco started barking and then we waited some more. We soon heard a scrabbling noise, the side gate clanged and Taco came racing down the path.
How did he get through the gate?

The clue

On further investigation, I noticed a bucket beside the gate. Using my terrier intellect, I figured out that he'd climbed on the bucket and squeezed between the bars.

Caught in the act

Dad has fixed the gate now. Ha!

"Case solved!"

Howdunnit?

I hate storms, especially thunder and high winds. All that banging and rumbling spooks me. If Mum and Dad are at home then I stick close to them - on their lap or between their feet.

If they’re out, I go and look for someone else.

Last week I ran to the neighbours' house where I took shelter until Sam’s Mum came and picked me up. Then I snuggled with Sam for the day.

I’m a master of escapes but you'll never guess how I did it…

Winter Wonder

What are these splashes of pink?

What is that exotic smell?

No, it isn’t Mum’s cooking, alas.

The jasmine is flowering early thanks to the sunshine.

Only 3 more weeks of winter!

This is how you greet a lady...

Ask first

Sniff politely

"Nice to meet you, Blaze"

How's that for good manners?

Stormy Seas

We had some big waves out there this morning, as well as wind and rain.

Don’t worry, the tropical cyclone didn’t reach us, but we're thinking of the people and animals in North Queensland and hoping they’re safe.

Surfers had a hard time getting in through the swell.

Not even seagulls dared.

The sound of those waves is pretty loud.

Enjoy the weekend and stay dry!

The Lizard Blues

The other day I found a fat snake with legs lurking in the back garden.

I raised the alarm and barked like mad, trying to scare it off. It looked like a monster and it stuck its tongue out at me. Can you believe the tongue was blue?  Terrifying!

Mum had to remove it before I launched a full attack. She caught it with a bath mat and laundry tub . She put it in the front garden where I couldn’t harass it. It was a really annoyed and was hissing fiercely.

In fact it’s a Blue Tongue Lizard and it likes to sunbathe in our garden. Mum says it's harmless, but I say you should have seen that tongue.

We also have these little guys inside the house. They’re leaf-tailed geckos and they hiss as well.

I don’t understand why Mum likes lizards so much but I suppose I'm a bit of a lounge lizard myself.

Dog Days of Summer

We’re home from vacation (actually we got back a while ago but Mum has been too lazy busy to blog lately).

The human branch of our family went abroad and all we got was this lousy photo!

We’ll be back with more about our adventures soon (that’s a hint, Mum…).

Meanwhile, this is Summer Down Under.
The pool doesn't look so inviting today

Bye for now
